SOUTH SOUTH VEZA: Group Show

23 February - 2 March 2021

Addis Fine Art is delighted to announce our participation in SOUTH SOUTH VEZA, a peer-led Online Viewing Room (OVR). We will be presenting works by Ermias Kifleyesus and Tesfaye Urgessa. Both artists explore subjects surrounding migration and assimilation, as well as discussing the impact their Ethiopian heritage has on their artistry.

SOUTH SOUTH VEZA is an online community, an anthology and a resource for artists, galleries, curators and collectors invested in the Global South. The platform’s launch brings together over 40 galleries from across five continents to present a more holistic world-view of contemporary art.

SOUTH SOUTH VEZA will be a hybrid of a live, by invitation only selling event powered by auction technology and a peer-led Online Viewing Room (OVR). Works by Ermias Kifleyesus and Tesfaye Urgessa will auctioned in the Online, Timed Selling Event, which is now open for registration and bidding until 23 February.

Part of the proceeds for the event will go to the SOUTH SOUTH not-for-profit partners RAW Material Company (Dakar), Casa do Povo (São Paulo) and Green Papaya Art Projects (Manila). These grassroots organisations are dedicated to nurturing multidisciplinary practices and arts discourses in their communities.
