Private Reputation of Colours: Eyasu Telayneh
We are pleased to present Eyasu Telayneh’s first European solo exhibition at our London gallery, opening 7 September. Eyasu lives and works in Addis Ababa, in his studio on Entoto mountain. He studied art at Addis Ababa University and graduated with a degree in painting from the Alle School of Fine Art and Design in 2017.
Eyasu’s abstract works draw on his fascination with geometry, colour, and physics. Blending structural and fluid forms, his works are responses to inner visualisations of the world around him. Featuring a selection of Eyasu’s latest paintings, The Private Reputation of Colours explores the relationships and essences of colours through space and the way in which colours can both express and elicit emotion. In the artist’s words, ‘colour is my reason for creating art.’
Eyasu’s work has been included in solo and group exhibitions in Addis Ababa, Cape Town, and Nairobi. This will be his first presentation in London.
